Croatian coast

Croatian coast together with the Norwegian coast with its many fjords, it is the most indented in the world.
Croatia’s coastline extends for 6000 kilometers, and has over 1,000 islands and islets, of which about 60 are inhabited. It is these particular characteristics which make it so attractive to sea-lovers, whether they are first timers or old hands.
Should you decide to spend some time cruising along the Croatian coast, you need to pay particular attention to the following:
-         Croatian territorial waters extend over twelve nautical miles into open sea from the main land or from the islands.
-         The coastal currents are not dangerous for shipping and have a speed of half a kilometer per hour.
-         The prevailing winds are: the "Bora" which blows NNE-ENE, the "Scirocco" which blows ESE-SSE and the "Maestral" which blows SSW-WNW.
